RMALB is seeking to hire a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist for our clinic in Greenville, NC. In this role, the candidate will work alongside two other practitioners in creating quality prosthetic and orthotic devices. A systematic approach will be used to transition the candidate through competencies with increasing levels of amputations and responsibilities.
The core responsibilities will include but is not limited to:
- Patient evaluations
- Detailed notation in OPIE
- Hand casting all amputation levels and for custom orthotic devices
- Modification and test socket fabrication
- Diagnostic fittings, final fabrication, delivery, and follow up
- Visiting hospital for evaluation and delivery of post-op devices
- Providing support at the hospital for our staff orthotist as needed
- Performing prosthetics & orthotics marketing activities which may include visiting referral sources, nursing homes, clinics, and speaking with physicians
- Patient education
As an office that fabricates most of our own prosthetics and orthotics, the candidate would be expected to lift up to 50 lbs, thermoform test sockets, break out plaster molds, laminate final sockets, finish socket using powered machinery.
Hospital work and marketing are also key responsibilities in this role. The candidate will deliver post-op devices to the hospital, educate the patient and family, and interact one on one with physicians and therapists about the patient’s needs and formulation of treatment plans.
