Job Description:

The O. R. Scrub Technician, Obstetrics is responsible for the direct and indirect nursing care of patients as determined by the registered nurse. He/She is also responsible for the supervision of assigned personnel. The position requires thorough knowledge of both department and hospital policies and procedures relevant to the delivery of nursing care. Interpretive skills, frequent interactive and consultative associations, along with managerial and supervisory tasks are inherent in the position. The ability to retrieve, communicate or otherwise present information in a written, auditory or visual fashion is essential. The primary method to express or exchange ideas is through the spoken word. Writing, telephone and manual dexterity skills are required for the position.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved operating room technical program required or equivalent.
• CST Certification required if hired after August 26, 2014 and Basic Life Support Certification for healthcare providers issued by the American Heart Association required.
