Job Description
[LocationThis position is located in La Mesa, San Diego County.
Hours8 hour shift, Full-time, 8:00am - 4:30pm, working weekends as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Current registration with State of California Board of Consumer Affairs as a CNA/CHHA.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
  • California Home Health Aide (CHHA) certification
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and techniques
  • Competence to execute HHA skills safely
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of one year of recent Acute, Home Health or Hospice experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate and function in a team environment to enhance patient care
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

SummaryThe Home Health Aide collaborates with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) in the delivery of quality patient care under the direction of a registered nurse and assists in performing personal care needs and compassionate end-of-life care. The Home Health Aide contributes to overall unit functions. The Home Health Aide provides comprehensive personal care. The Home Health Aide exhibits courtesy, cooperation and respect toward patients, families, visitors, physicians, and fellow workers to create a positive public image and a harmonic work environment. The Home Health Aide provides care at end of life care. The staffing ratio is one RN and HHA to four patients. Sharp HospiceCare is a moderate size Medicare Certified, Joint Commission Accredited organization in an integrated healthcare delivery system. Sharp Hospice Care is dedicated to providing comprehensive care and compassionate support to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses, along with their families and friends. Services range from relief of physical discomfort to emotional and spiritual support. Sharp Hospice Care also provides home based palliative care consultation for patients with advanced illness such as heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and dementia.
