Gerber Collision & Glass is looking for Centralized Purchasing Coordinator to join our winning team. Responsibilities:
The Purchasing Coordinator’s primary responsibility and accountability is to source the most cost effective and best quality parts for every repair order that they are tasked to order parts for. The Purchasing Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the success of the business’ KPIs and performance metrics. The Purchasing Coordinator will use the vehicle’s repair plan phase and the insurance companies guidelines to determine the best part(s) to order. The Purchasing Coordinator will relay all part(s) delays and backorders to the repair center that the part was ordered for which will help the repair center keep the customer informed and up to date on the repair progress of their vehicle.Qualifications:

  • Role and Requirements

    • Remote parts ordering for multiple locations
    • Ordering electronically through management system(s)
    • Order all parts as indicated on repair orders unless otherwise specified
    • Provides positive energy when interacting with repair centers and vendors
    • Work with vendors to locate and order parts
    • Ensure most cost effective parts are purchased
    • Track all parts delays keeping all repair centers informed
    • Ensure every task sent during the work day is completed before leaving
    • Manage vendor agreements and contracts when applicable
    • Support all team members when required
    • Participate in required meetings with management to go over goals and position progress
    • Participate in monthly Health & Safety and staff meeting (if required)Work tools to be utilized:
      • Management Information Systems: CCC One, OpsTrax
      • Working Knowledge of: Google Sheets, Docs, Gmail

      Education and experience:

      • High School Diploma or equivalent
      • A minimum of 1 year previous experience in a collision repair environment or a
      similar role
      • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
      • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
      • Effectively manage a fast-paced environment, demonstrating multi-tasking ability while working under pressure
      • Working knowledge of vehicle repairs practices and vehicle parts
      • Customer service oriented and strong organizational skills
      • Ability to manage pressure, conflicting demands, and prioritize tasks while taking initiative in problem solving situations

      Required skills:

      • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
      • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
      • Effectively manage a fast-paced environment, demonstrating multi-tasking ability while working under pressure
      • Working knowledge of vehicle repairs practices
      • Customer Service Oriented and strong organizational skills
      • Ability to manage pressure and conflicting demands and prioritize tasks takes initiative in problem solving situations
      • Frequently required to bend, crouch, reach, handle tools and lift in excess of 50lbs of materials
