We are currently searching for an experienced CEI Inspector II to support our East Gulf region located in Atlanta, GA. Are we the road to your future?
This position will support higher level inspectors and engineers in functional areas such as construction inspection and surveying; scheduling and status; roadway design; traffic signal equipment, traffic signalization and geometrics; materials sampling; and inspection testing.

We are currently searching for an experienced CEI Inspector II to support our East Gulf region located in Atlanta, GA. Are we the road to your future?
This position will support higher level inspectors and engineers in functional areas such as construction inspection and surveying; scheduling and status; roadway design; traffic signal equipment, traffic signalization and geometrics; materials sampling; and inspection testing.
What you’ll be doing:
- Perform project engineering duties in lieu of Project Engineer on smaller construction projects.
- Will perform independent complex inspections of roadways and structure construction processes and materials to assure compliance with the construction contract.
- Perform moderately complex inspections; or supervise other inspectors conducting routine and standardized inspections.
- Work includes inspecting asphalt and concrete for acceptable structures for conformance to plans and specifications.
- Will perform contract documentation duties.
- Coordinate with other disciplines such as roadway and drainage to perform checks of documents for conformance to structural drawings.
What you need to have:
- High School diploma or GED and three (3) years of progressive transportation technician experience as an employee or consultant for a State Highway Agency; OR an equivalent combination of training and directly related experience.
- Passing scores on GDOT’s construction engineering inspection training tests – Group 1 and Group 2
- GDOT WECS
- GDOT Field Concrete Technician Certification
- GSWCC Level 1a (Erosion Control).
