Catering Sales Manager is responsible for actively soliciting and closing social catering business. Selling social events to include small and intimate weddings (under 100 guests) is the primary focus of this position. The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for selling, managing, coordination and executing the details of Catering Events. The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of strategic selling, previous experience in event sales or hospitality related experience. This position requires consistent adherence to policies and procedures of the department as outlined in the Biltmore Standard Operating Procedures (BSOP’S).
Responsibilities
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service.
- Confirm all event related information with clients.
- Secure social catering events to exceed personal revenue goals.
- Confirm event related information with client & disseminate information to all departments in a professional & timely manner.
- Initiate billing procedures, ensuring client credibility & that deposits or credit applications are received with adequate information & within an acceptable time frame.
- Establish good business & social relationships with the industry & participate in activities related to public relations to increase sales leads for the department as well as the hotel.
Qualifications
Experience and Education Required
- Education
- High School Diploma is required. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
- Experience
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in upscale hotel catering managing the large gala market, luxury weddings & signature events
- Previous leadership experience in a similar role is required.
Skills Required

Physical Demands
- Must be able to:

- Visually look at a computer for extended periods of time.
- Adapt to moderate temperatures in the hotel as thermostat is controlled by hotel environmental systems. Most work tasks are performed indoors.
