About the RoleThe Category Manager II drives competitive advantage and value creation for sourcing initiatives for the Talent Management and Corporate Shared Services categories. Own all aspects of negotiating contract terms and pricing, as well as conducting spend and data analysis, ensuring process and policy compliance, performing market research, and facilitating ongoing supplier relationship management, category management and business engagement. The Category Manager II will own planning, implementation, and execution of sourcing strategy for specific categories. Responsible for developing and maintaining effective partnerships with business partners at various levels.
What You'll Do- Create and Execute sourcing strategies through strong technical/functional knowledge, in support of the business’ short-term and long-term plans.
- Achieve defined category performance targets; hold suppliers accountable to performance agreements and implement course corrections and mitigation strategies as needed
- Build and strengthen strategic relationships: successfully partner across functions and levels with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, Legal, Finance, GapTech, Corporate Functions and Brands to drive results and influence change
- Leverage influencing skills to define Strategic Sourcing’s role and align objectives and targets with business partners.
- Develop category knowledge and regularly leverage industry experts, associations, peers and stakeholders to identify and benchmark best practices.
- Category expertise in sourcing complex categories. Talent Management and Shared Services a plus.
- Experience leveraging business acumen, market intelligence, and insight to influence and drive strategic impact in complex categories.
- Proven ability to assess and adapt to dynamic business environment
- Manage, plan, and execute complex, global categories to drive short and long-term results through category strategies, leveraging in-depth market knowledge, collaboration and influencing at all levels of a global organization.
