Job Description

Howard House is a 24-hour long and short term adult residential facility, exclusively for brain injury survivors. Our residents are both male and female, ages 18-60 years old.

Howard House is owned and operated by San Diego Brain Injury Foundation and is located in Escondido, CA. We are currently looking for compassionate individuals to join our team of caregivers.

Skills:
Communication and reading in English;
Efficient time management;
Professionalism

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements:
Must be 18 years old;
Must have valid driver's license and be able to drive;
Must be able to lift and move 75 pounds (minimum);
Must be able to sit, stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crawl

Responsibilities with include and not be limited to:
Continue the plans and care that are communicated throught the resident's needs and service plans along with our company's policies of care;

Document the resident's basic activities of daily living skills;
Maintain service notes daily regarding resident's physical, emotional and social status, incident reporting and communication notes;

Conduct personal hygiene for residents to include: bathing, toileting and grooming;
Light housekeeping and daily meal prep/cooking;
Transfer residents to and from chairs, beds, ambulatory aides of any kind;
Provide daily physical therapy, arts, crafts, games, reading, music, etc

Specialized training

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
To ensure the safety of the residents and care takers, gloves and masks are provided. Daily temperatures are also recorded.

Experience:

  • Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred)

Care needed for:

  • Adult

Pay Frequency:

  • Bi weekly or Twice monthly

Duties:

  • Reading, writing, and carrying out directions
  • Providing companionship and supportive listening
  • Taking vitals, height, and weight
  • Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities
