Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY
:
Performs electrocardiograms (ECG's), stress test, Holter placement, signal averaged ECG's. Processes transcription reports; edits electrocardiograms; logs physician interpretations and maintains all records and reports of the same. Coordinates scheduling of all Heart Station services. Participates in Out-Reach program. Responds to Dr. Heart.
- Operates Department Equipment
Correctly applies and initiates Holter Monitoring system
Accurately applies and records ECG's and SAE's
Correctly prepares and monitors patients during Stress/Exercise Testing.
Correctly operates ECG management system, (MUSE).
- Performs Clerical Duties
Accurately enters on CRT patient charges per departmental Policy and Procedure
Correctly edits ECG's.
Efficiently distributes Heart Station reports per department procedure.
Maintains accurate log of all Heart Station procedures.
Maintains accurate log of all transcriptions Heart Station has processed.
Efficiently and correctly files departmental reports.

Interacts with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Contributes to a congenial work environment.
Provides information in a timely and courteous manner.
Serves as a preceptor for in-training cardiology techs.
Consistently answers phones promptly and courteously.
- Maintains Equipment and Supplies
Promptly reports to appropriate persons malfunction of equipment.
Demonstrates conservative use of department supplies.
Contributes to a neat and orderly work environment.
- Coordinates Department Activities
Efficiently coordinates scheduling of Heart Station services with the physician, patients, families and other departments.
Maintains schedule of Out-Reach program.
Efficiently and in a timely manner assigns ECG request.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
:
Education:
Successful completion of basic dysrhythmia course
Experience
: Minimum 2 years secretarial/clerical experience in a broad range of office duties.
Physical Requirements

This job requires, at various times, the following physical activities; climbing, balancing, stopping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, carrying, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, talking, and hearing, sometimes exerting in excess of 20-100 pounds of force. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform daily activities. May be subject to inside environmental conditions, hazards (including electrical currents and exposure to high heat and chemicals), infectious diseases, and may be required to function around prisoners and mental patients.
Skills
:
Organizational abilities; accurate typing skills, familiarity with CRT; effective communication skills; understanding of medical terminology with emphasis on cardiovascular terminology.
