Job Description

PURPOSE

The Capacity Coordinator position will act as a liaison between Customer Service Account Managers (CS AM’s) and Logistics Carrier Manager. This position will also adequately respond to the customer’s freight and logistics requirements, servicing both internal and external customers. The work is to be proactive, and one must be able to recognize and provide alerts on potential service gaps.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Coordinate efforts with USA Truck Asset and USAT Logistics divisions to identify areas of need and areas of opportunity to add revenue
  • Communicate when loads/lanes are secured to ensure on-time performance
  • Coordinate capacity coverage through Carrier Managers for any loads provided by Customer Service
  • Collaborate with Customer Service to accept or reject lower profitability loads and/or drop-trailer loads
  • Aid in any necessary negotiations for existing customer contract rate modification (where applicable)
  • Communicate any identified pick up or delivery issues to Customer Service for proactive communication to customer
  • Communicate preferred appointment times/windows to scheduling team to entice market carrier’s interest
  • Ability & willingness to support Carrier Management and Customer Service teams as needed
  • Responsible for attaining monthly individual goals which lead to meeting or exceeding branch goals

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Advanced communication (written and verbal), organizational, and problem-solving skills

Working conditions

This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required to:

  • Remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Frequently operate a computer for extended periods of time and regularly operate other office productivity machines.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend stairs and move up to 20 pounds of office objects.
  • Frequently communicate with peers, supervisors, third parties, and other employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions.
  • Occasionally attend meetings in buildings outside corporate office and at off-site locations with various internal conditions, and requiring travel in various external conditions.
  • Travel domestically as necessary.
