The staff nurse for the oncology patient subpopulation, provides safe, effective, and evidence-based care tailored to the individual needs of the patient and family. The staff nurse utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation while caring for our patients maintaining confidentiality and dignity.

- 1. Essential Functions
- 1.1 Assesses the patient's physical and psychological condition on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care. Documents appropriately the information obtained from the ongoing assessment. Shares significant assessment data with the appropriate discipline.

- 4.1 Actively participates in train and educational activities for other staff members

EDUCATION
BSN preferred or currently matriculating. Must have successfully completed ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy course by the start of employment in the Cancer Center. Must maintain ONS provider card.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum three years medical surgical/oncology experience. Recent and relevant experience in an oncology setting required. Infusion experience required. Outpatient Ambulatory experience preferred.
LICENSURE
Active RI RN license, OCN, AOCN, or CPON certification required or required within one year of employment. . BLS required ACLS (Optional) PALS within one year of hire
SPECIAL SKILLS
Demonstrated proficiency in acute-care nursing, knowledge, and skills. Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals Basic computer knowledge is preferred Strong ability to communicate and interact professionally in busy environment
