McFarlane Aviation is an industry leading developer, manufacturer, and distributor of FAA-PMA parts and assemblies with an open position for a Cable Production Technician. As an ambitious and growing aerospace company, McFarlane Aviation has recently expanded and is now in need of this role.
We are currently looking for a passionate, creative and detail oriented full-time person who has experience with general assembly. This is a 1st shift Monday-Friday position in a clean and air-conditioned environment.

Position: Cable Production Technician
Job Description:
The position is responsible for the assembly, testing and inspecting of flight control cables for aircraft. The role requires efficient, courteous internal customer service and the ability to read, understand and follow engineer drawings. Position works under general direction and supervision of the Cable Production Manager.
Essential duties include:
- Flight Control Cables Fabrication & Chain
- Read drawings and inventory reports.
- Communicate with team on workflow priorities.
- Build stocking Job Orders.
- Inspect for quality in all aspects
- Aircraft parts Assembler and Fabrication
- Assembly and inspection
- Kit production
- Processes such as deburring, washing, inspection
- Perform Other Assembly and Fabrication, or Process
- Machining as needed
- Other Product Design and Fabrication as Required
- Quality
- Follows Quality Assurance, Production Specifications, and Drawings
- Parts inspections and is Responsible for Production of Quality Product
- Cable Inspections
- Cleans work area, regularly
- Other Duties as Assigned
Requirements and skills needed for the success at this position:
- Detail-oriented with organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Read, analyze, and interpret written instructions and drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Strong desire to help customers and co-workers
- Team player who is willing to assist other departments during lag times
- Creative capabilities to make suggested improvements and ideas for new tools
- Able to measure and understand using tape measures, calipers and micrometers
Experience and Skills :
- 2-3 years of assembly experience
- Experience in using an Android tablet
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work both in a team setting and individually
- Manage small projects
- A willingness to continuously learn
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
Perform repetitive motion type tasks regularly
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to lift up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration, repetitive motion, bending, lifting, twisting, crouching, reaching, pushing and/or pulling.
