Position Title: Buyer/Planner

Department: Clerical/Managerial

FLSA: Salaried, exempt

Position Summary: Planning the inventory investment, overseeing corporate inventory control, and monitoring adherence to established inventory targets. Development, implementation and monitoring of procedures for inventory planning. Detailed decisions that keep the materials flowing into and through the plant in the most expeditious manner to achieve the shipment of the final product.

Essential Functions:

Planning and Scheduling of internal operations.

• Release orders and reschedules existing orders to effectively plan and meet inventory commitments.
• Maintains contact with functional managers throughout the company to coordinate and control materials in an effort to accomplish company objectives and improve company profit.
• Monitors supplier performance and works to improve this performance when necessary.
• Follows procedures in place to track and request materials and orders.
• Reconcile errors or inconsistency, verify and eliminate root cause of these errors.
• Use systems to solve critical material shortages.

Qualifications: Bachelor Degree or 5 years related experience.

Immediate Supervisor: Materials Manager
