As Buyer III, Procurement at the Pleasanton, CA Plant, you will support the development of strategic relationships with the supply base to improve supplier performance across quality and delivery. Additionally, you will help mitigate supply chain risk through developing robust contract and relationship management processes. You will work with a team of strategic buyers as well as support the operational execution team to remove barriers to on-time material availability for manufacturing. You’ll take ownership for projects and hold a larger remit in terms of procurement and sourcing responsibility.

What will you do?

  • Support the Director Procurement Partner to develop ideas and strategies that improve operational efficiency, contribute and aid business performance improvement
  • Set-up / review supplier agreements, undertake monthly scorecard reviews of key suppliers and lead quarterly business reviews to handle performance improvement activities
  • Resolve high level issues regarding price, quality, delivery or payment.
  • Research and evaluate areas of opportunity to mitigate risk and reduce costs where possible
  • Improve overall procurement processes and work instructions
  • Develop collaborative working relationships with all internal customers and stakeholders.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement projects to remove non-value added activity
  • Provide support to the operational Material Planning team as required
  • Create and maintain management information report
  • Lead and engage in purchasing, sourcing and materials planning functions to support site operation.
  • Ensure accurate master data set up in system and system reporting function.
  • Engage in monthly, quarterly business review with the plant.
  • Engage in monthly, quarterly business review with suppliers.
  • Responsible for new contract negotiation or contract renewal with supplier, corporate commodity manager and legal.
  • Support the purchasing team in internal and external audit activity
