What will you do?

  • Purchase components and managing delivery schedules with Suppliers using Oracle MRP system to meet Production Schedule and/or customer orders. Components purchased include molded plastic parts, extruded and blown films, extruded tubing, stainless steel vessels, fabricated parts, packaging items, etc.
  • Support customer expedite requests with focus on COVID rated orders
  • Provide project support for COVID-specific projects and expansion projects
  • Set and maintain accurate item lead times in the system and hold suppliers accountable to their commitments and to meet performance expectations.
  • Buy parts according to specifications ensuring compliance to quality standards and CGMP manufacturing requirements. Work with Suppliers to resolve quality issues.
  • Work cross functionally with other departments such as Engineering, Quality, Production, Planning, Sales, Customer Service, and Accounting in order to meet business needs.
  • Represent the company at all times with professional and ethical conduct when interacting with all contacts, including suppliers, customers, and colleagues
  • Visit suppliers as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities (PPI) in order to remove waste from our processes and improve performance
  • Participate in purchasing performance metrics and related meetings: purchase price variance, on-time delivery, backorder, supplier scorecards, etc.
  • Manage inventory to target levels while systematically optimizing inventory investment and service levels.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing for purchased items.
  • Maintain accurate files and records for all correspondence and transactions with Suppliers

How will you get there?

Education:

  • Bachelors in business or technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • OR High School Diploma PLYS 8+ years experience w/ applicable certifications.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Minimum 3+ years business experience
  • Experience with Oracle and/or other ERP system using MRP Planning
  • Exposure in negotiation and contract management
  • Knowledge of supply chain programs (Consignment (PAC), JIT, VMI, etc.) and ability to manage execution of these programs.
  • CPM/CIPS/APICS or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Excel with strong analytical skills
  • Ability to locate new sources for new and existing products for the company.
