Associated Students is recruiting for a Convenience Store(s) Supervisor . This is a full-time, 11-month (1900 hours), non-exempt position. The rate of pay is $18.00/hr . The anticipated schedule is early mornings to early afternoons Monday through Friday (one hour meal breaks). The schedule is subject to change based on operational needs.

The Associated Students (AS) is a comprehensive campus auxiliary corporation of CSU,Chico serving thousands of students, faculty, staff and community members through myriad student programs, services and business enterprises. With an annual budget of more than $21M, the AS operates residential and retail dining services, the Bell Memorial Union, the Wildcat Recreation Center (WREC), and administers the contract for the Wildcat Store (bookstore). Additionally, the AS offers a wide variety of services and programs such as: CAVE (Community Action Volunteers in Education), Child Development Lab, Adventure Outings, Recycling, Sustainability and student government. Typically, the AS employs more than 100 full and part-time employees and more than 750 students.

CONVENIENCE STORE(S) SUPERVISOR
SUMMARY
Under general supervision to be responsible for the operation and services of an Associated Students convenience store(s); to purchase a variety of supplies for the convenience store; to perform stocking, merchandising and turnover analysis to develop appropriate product mixes to meet financial goals; to hire, train, supervise, and evaluate convenience store(s) staff; and to do related work as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Has responsibility for the operation of an Associated Students convenience store(s) (Butte and Holt Stations).
- Develops an inventory mix and presentation to meet customer needs within budget guidelines.
- Works with Food Service management staff to purchase products for sale, set prices, and establish delivery schedules.
- Monitors inventory levels to insure availability of items and to evaluate desirability of products being sold (POS system).
- Arranges merchandise displays.
- Establishes and maintains good customer relations.
- Ensures proper cleanliness, work safety, and storage practices at convenience store(s).
- Has responsibility for proper functioning and maintenance of equipment and fixtures.
- Reports problems requiring maintenance and repair.
- Coordinates the opening and closing of cash handling on a daily basis.
- Balances daily cash sales.
- Prepares and maintains reports.
- Hires, trains, schedules, and evaluates staff.
- Maintains adequate staffing levels to meet business needs.
- Complies with Associated Students personnel procedures regarding time reporting and maximum scheduled hours.
- Maintains good relations with customers, campus community, and staff.
- Other duties may be assigned.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in an enclosed convenience store(s) environment; some exposure to heat and moisture; continuous contact with staff, campus community, and public.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Stand and walk for extended periods; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; verbal communication; reaching; lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Two (2) years of full-time or part-time equivalent increasingly responsible work experience in convenience store(s)operations and inventory management.
Special Requirements:
- Possession of or ability to obtain a current and valid California Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
