The Finance Business Analyst's primary objective is helping the Finance organization implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or enhancement, and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators and partners.The Finance BA will analyze current state, anticipate future needs and provide functional support of business applications for Alnylam global finance operations. This includes but is not limited to oversight of managing a backlog of enhancement requests, meeting with stakeholders to understand and communicate priorities, overseeing SAP upgrades, implementing new enhancements, and documenting requirements.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Document requirements and provide business oversight in designing SAP solutions
- Document/formalize requirements and provide additional support as we introduce new functionality in our Finance applications; a few SAP examples may include Order to Cash (OTC), Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) and CO-PA.
- Support FI-Logistics processes like third party drop shipments, intercompany transactions etc.
- Support Bank Accounting configuration including payment and electronic bank statements (EBS).
- Understand the Finance SAP and other application business processes and dependencies between them.
- Conduct or participate in user requirements gathering & documentation designs (including functional specifications). Ensure compliance to existing, and development of required data and reporting standards.
- Assist with responding to user requirements, problem resolution, develop designs, and process modeling.
- Review and unit test configuration changes to accommodate change requests and prototype activities
- Keep abreast of SAP releases, enhancements/new functionality and perform application research.
- Assist in the development of proof of concepts, assist in training activities, perform initial testing of problem fixes, change requests, enhancements and new functionality.
- Partner with internal business teams in defining business processes and associated system requirements.
- Participate in system implementation projects as needed (requirements documentation, test documentation/execution, issue identification and resolution).
Qualifications
- Masters or Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Finance or Business Administration with SAP Certification
- 1-2 years of experience in integrating custom built solutions with vendor product offerings, particularly Treasury and Financial applications
- Demonstrable functional business acumen in Finance disciplines with experience maintaining financial integrity across all the systems.
- Experience participating in full-system implementation life-cycles (analyze, design, build, test, implement & support)
- 1+ years of demonstrable experience with IT Finance SAP in a global business environment on ECC 6.0
- Knowledge in S/4 HANA a plus
- 1+ years of demonstrable experience in global business environment, preferably in the Life Science industry
Preferred Qualifications
- Process knowledge of SAP FICO, Bank Integration, Intercompany reporting, 3rd party logistics
- Experienced in working on cross-functional or cross-team projects
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and thrive in a rapidly changing business environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong analytical skills and a demonstrable bias toward action
- Experience with SAP ERP
