Supports data driven decision making by formulating recommendations based upon data and trend analysis, financial and operational modeling, budget management and resource analysis, and strategic and market research. Works collaboratively with health system leadership and management, ancillary service directors, budget and finance, administrators and other stakeholders to support ongoing planning, assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of health system services at UMMC.Education & ExperienceMaster’s degree in a business or health-related field and one year of experience with significant responsibility for business improvement and which includes leading work teams, or bachelor’s degree in a business or health-related field and three years of experience with significant responsibility for business improvement and which includes leading work teams.

Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of business improvement and project management principles. Technical skills in data analysis and reporting, with the ability to analyze large quantities of data and assimilate it into understandable management reports. Ability to develop, implement, and monitor new strategies, policies, and procedures. Skilled in organization and time management to manage multiple projects. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build rapport and positive relationships with key stakeholders. Ability to work with little direction while being sensitive to issues requiring supervisory or other stakeholder involvement.
Responsibilities :
- Develops the qualitative and quantitative components of business plans that allow the organization to make sound business decisions.
- Plans activities aimed at improving the hospital's performance in operations and fiscal management.
- Develops pro-forma financial statements for proposed new services or equipment. Responsibilities may include varying levels of business planning and human and fiscal resource management. Assists with the planning, preparation, administration, and monitoring of operating and capital budgets to ensure alignment with strategic and financial goals.
- Functions as a project manager resource for interdisciplinary teams across various hospital units in the establishment, prioritization, and implementation of initiatives.
- Regularly accesses, analyzes, and reports operational and outcome data to identify opportunities for improved business performance and to support sound decision making.
- Evaluates effectiveness of business improvement strategies through sustained monitoring to identify adverse trends and/or undesirable performance.
- Works with business units and areas to develop corrective action plans through utilization of performance improvement techniques and methodologies.
- Prepares reports and presentations on pertinent metrics and operational updates to share with management, leadership and other stakeholders.
- Plans, directs, supervises, and coordinates the work products of associated business projects.
- Assists with the development, planning, organizing, and administration of policies and procedures to ensure administrative and operational objectives are met.
