Business Development Representative
- Full-Time
- Raleigh, NC
- Offline
- Posted 3 years ago – Accepting applications
Offline (www.letsgetoffline.com | @offlineraleighdurham) is seeking a full-time Business Development Representative who will help us expand our partner network in Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte.
ROLE
You’ll be joining a small-but-mighty sales team of 2: an Account Executive and our CEO. Your "true north" will be finding creative ways to identify and qualify new outbound business opportunities for Offline. Your primary responsibilities will be:
- Running our outbound process. We have a solid process for sourcing leads and reaching them through outbound Email/Webform/Social. You'll continue to run (and improve!) that process to reach new outbound opportunities and set meetings for our AE or CEO.
- Qualifying inbound. You'll also be the first point of contact with inbound leads to qualify them. Once qualified, you'll set a meeting for our AE or CEO.
- Experimenting with new ways to reach leads. This is a creative position, and you'll constantly be brainstorming new ideas for lead development: cold calling, networking, glitterbomb mail, etc.—you'll have the ability to try anything you can dream up.
- Assisting with sales operations & CRM. There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes of any sales team on the process and software side. You'll help ideate and maintain processes that keep us running smoothly.
OUTLOOK
Offline’s vision in the next few years to scale to several more cities (in addition to Charlotte). As you master the BDR role, there will be opportunities to help grow the Offline Partnerships team and take on more leadership responsibility.
Requirements
SKILL REQUIREMENTS- #1 A STARTUP MENTALITY. We’re looking for someone who understands how to hustle, rolls with the punches, and gets up every day ready to improve. We want to work with people who have a great attitude, are highly self-motivated, and are prepared to learn by doing.
- #2 COMMUNICATION. Sales requires excellent communication skills—you will be writing and talking most of the day. You’ll need to be as comfortable talking to a cashier as you would be to a business owner, and have the ability to ask great questions and think quickly on your feet.
- #3 ORGANIZATION / ATTENTION TO DETAIL. we deal with a high volume of sales opportunities at any given time, so your ability to stay organized and keep information up-to-date is crucial. After a few months of learning, you’ll be working on three different markets (Raleigh, Durham, and Charlotte) simultaneously.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Proven work experience as a Business Development Representative or similar role. Limited experience is fine, but some experience is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)
- Track record of achieving sales quotas
- Experience with CRM software (e.g. Hubspot, Salesforce)
LOCATION + TRAVEL
Offline currently operates on a hybrid work model. Most days we work from home, and a few times each week we meet up to co-work in Raleigh. Since you’ll be covering multiple markets (Raleigh-Durham + Charlotte), you’ll need to be prepared to spend time physically traveling if necessary (Offline will pay any travel expenses).
Benefits
Offline offers healthcare, dental, vision, and 401k (4% match) benefits. Equity may also be granted according to experience level.
