Business Development Manager - Medical Device Catheters
Central RegionYour tasks
  • Develop and lead all sales and growth strategies and activities for a specific geographic territory.
  • Generate new revenue opportunities within a given strategic market, while managing existing accounts to meet and exceed annual sales and marketing plans and objectives.

  • Identify, screen (using established criteria) and qualify new customer partnerships and opportunities that match FM MIS’s strategic plan and Customer Value Proposition
  • Continually research, network and prospect while maintaining SalesForce information of Prospects, Leads, Opportunities, and competitors.

  • Maintain a pipeline of new opportunities sufficient at all times to meet a running 12-month revenue goal.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of opportunities, prospects, and forecasts to management
  • Ensure proper collection and dissemination of project details and customer requirements to internal teams pursuant to FM MIS corporate procedures prior to quoting.
  • Collaboratively work with internal and corporate team to develop and present proposals
  • Manage the Contract review process with customers and within Freudenberg Medical
  • Plan and conduct strategic negotiations with customers, including concession strategies.
  • Monitor and manage relationships with current customers for current programs including business reviews and program change requests.

  • Achieve annual sales goals for the territory consistent with corporate requirements for predictability, profitability, resource availability and strategy.
  • Participate in, be accountable for departmental needs (e.g., case studies, process improvements), and contribute to developing sales and marketing strategies for the department.
  • Internal communication management between the development, manufacturing, quality, legal, and leadership teams to ensure a consistent relationship with new and ongoing customers.
  • Maintain productive relationships with life science related academic and private equity organizations.
  • Manage the Contracts process for new and existing customers
Our expectations
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years experience, ideally in the life science industry, in the areas of business development, sales, strategic planning, and complex negotiations in B-to-B environments.
  • Medical device industry experience required; developing and representing development or manufacturing services experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience providing leadership and managing multiple projects of medium complexity
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, customers and suppliers.
  • Effective customer relationship development and account management skills.
  • Frequent Travel (50%) - Central Region

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or life science related advanced degree, or the educational equivalent
  • Existing relationships with OEMs in the disposable medical device or catheter industries

  • Independent and has an entrepreneurial spirit with a genuine ability to develop relationships with internal and external customer to develop a final product.
  • Responsible for being a solutions provider through establishing trust with customers and ongoing relationships in a consultative atmosphere.
  • Able to have a pulse on the medical device and complex catheter market to assess, negotiate and close high-level executive deals.
  • Self-motivated and thrives in a fast-paced, cutting-edge, “lean” systems environment, where you have the ability to grow the business through selling strategic partnerships across the entire product life cycle.
