WHAT YOU'LL DO
The essential functions include:
- Secure new contracts with health plans for a portfolio of behavioral health services (residential and outpatient)
- Participate in contract negotiations
- Create a network of targeted referral sources and cultivate long-term relationships with key contacts to drive direct referrals to Hillsides
- Work with the business office and executive team to assess health plan service needs and identify new contract opportunities.
- Monitor and analyze service line utilization, identifying opportunities to drive business growth and increase referrals.
- Work with the marketing team to develop regular referral source outreach campaigns for payers and referral sources, including hospitals, managed care plans, medical groups, EAPs, and community providers.
- Liaise between payers and internal teams (Intake, Billing, Program Leadership, Marketing, Quality Assurance, and the executive team).
- Support the credentialing and recredentialing process.
- Support business development of new service lines, including a partial hospitalization program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and other outpatient therapy programs (OP).
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis for strategic positioning and growth.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Ability to read, analyze and interpret requests generated by health plans.
Work Schedule:
- Able to work 40 hours per week, with availability to work evenings and weekends on occasion. (currently remote)

- Computer literate (advanced knowledge of the Office 365 Suite/Apps)
- Able to use telephone, office copier, calculator, e-fax, computer printer and scanner, or other equipment as required
- Ability to develop and train in electronic file keeping and data management systems to enhance in-house monitoring and reporting.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position is currently “remote” during the pandemic but may shift to in-office work once its safe. Periodic office visits may be necessary.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATES
- Bachelor's degree required
- Master's degree preferred
- 3 years of relevant contracting/business development experience in a managed care or healthcare industry
- Preferred understanding of the interrelationships and competitive landscape of payers and providers in the Los Angeles County behavioral health market
- Valid California driver's license, driving record and personal vehicle insurance acceptable to Hillsides' insurance carrier
OSHA CATEGORY:
This position performs tasks that may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. All Hillsides employees are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis B vaccination
