In connection with Computershare’s purchase of the corporate trust business of Wells Fargo (WFCTS), Computershare has created a business unit, Computershare Corporate Trust (CCT) and Computershare is seeking to recruit various roles within the Second Line of Defence Risk Team so support and oversee the CCT business.
A role you will love
The Business Control Manager is an important role within the Second Line of Defence Risk team for CCT. The role will be responsible for providing independent testing regarding the adequacy, effectiveness, and sustainability of control processes within the CCT business.
This individual will support the CRO in developing a control testing program and methodology. This will include delivering training and delivering standards.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a team of business control testers (initially one),
- Establishing risk-based objectives, conducting ‘walk throughs’ with management,
- Executing test plans, ensuring sound conclusions,
- Engaging the business relative to the findings,
- Supporting the development of actions plans and
- Prepare and distribute a final report for executive management.
- Be responsible for coordinating with Business Aligned Senior Risk Managers to support the scoring of control design and effectiveness.
- Oversight of remediation plans associated with control testing results.
What will you bring to the role?
- In-depth knowledge of business controls within a financial services firm across all functions – Operations, Front Office, Technology, Information Security, Finance and/or Trust Services.
- In-depth understanding of different types of controls – detective, preventative, directive etc
- Ability to independently create and execute and controls testing programme which meets the needs of many stakeholders.
- Ability to form a testing strategy and sampling approach based on types of controls within CCT.
- In-depth understanding of the links between risks, issues, business processes and controls
- 7+ years in risk management or in a business controls capacity for a financial services firm
- People management experience
- Strong communication, analytical, and time management skills.
- The role holder will be credible at management and senior management level. The role holder will manage a team (initially one) so will have experience of performance management including setting and reviewing objectives in line with the CPU performance management policy.

Education and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, or five or more years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
Educated to degree level
Industry recognised risk management accreditation
Salary for Colorado candidates: $100,000-$150,000 annually.
Travel Required
It is expected that this position may include travel up to 10% of the time. This is subject to change based on many factors, including business needs.
