Location: Washington, DC with option for remote
Position Overview: BCS, LLC is looking for a Business Associate in support of U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The successful candidate will be able to quickly understand financial systems within the Department, work with both internal and external stakeholders, handle large datasets, and have excellent task management and attention to detail. This is a great opportunity to break into the field of cybersecurity and energy infrastructure resilience as well as learn about the modernization of our nation’s energy infrastructure.
Responsibilities:

  • Manage funding tracking for the Office across all DOE recipients (National laboratories, financial assistance awards, and procurement activities). This includes tracking balances using financial databases and working directly with contacts at the different recipient locations to ensure funds are being properly costed.
  • Work directly with Federal Budget Analysts to ensure their program’s funding are properly executed and tracked in the corporate financial systems and that their financial request are being costed appropriately.
  • Regular reconciliation of DOE financial systems. Utilizing tools such as the Corporate Planning System (CPS) and BI Answers, a successful candidate will reconcile financial data across all recipients. When there are discrepancies, the analyst will work directly with national laboratory or other recipient to resolve inconsistencies.
  • Manage milestone tracking including mapping goals and milestones within the new Office structure. This tracking will utilize existing DOE budget systems as well as advanced Excel capabilities to ensure financial are mapped properly to each goal and milestone.
  • Processing reimbursable work (RW) related to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Mission Assignments (MA).

Preferred Experience / Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of DOE-specific budget process, including formulation, planning, execution
  • Knowledge of DOE corporate/reporting systems including CPS, EDC, BI Answers, STARS, and STRIPES

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, IT, or a related field. MS degree and/or PMP certification a plus
  • 1-3 years of experience in the job functions listed
  • Attention to detail; excellent verbal communication, writing, and editing skills
  • Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to diverse requests and quickly changing requirements, while meeting deadlines
