Compensation Minimum:$ 90,200Compensation Maximum:$ 144,500Summary:This role works within the Agency Digital/Customer Data team in IT.Business Analyst Advisors will provide the business with context of current capabilities and rationale for future efforts through data driven and holistic analysis of business value as it aligns to strategic goals. Provides cross functional expertise to guide business stakeholders in the creation of business strategies, scoping of projects, and creation of business rules and requirements. Consults on solution feasibility by outlining cultural, technical, operational, implementation and/or governance barriers for emerging opportunities and organizational readiness challenges. Applies a structured business architecture approach and methodology for capturing the key views of the enterprise via process/integrated models, value chains, and other documentation. Ensures technology solutions are leveraged effectively to provide business value without over engineering.
Job Description:
Primary Accountabilities
- Leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of standard operating procedures for effective requirements engineering, including use and continuous improvement of the requirements process.
- Consults with peers across the organization to ensure continuity and conformance to corporate strategies across business divisions.
- Consults with project level BAs to ensure deliverables align with strategy and vision and meet the intended objectives.
- Aligns project level business analysts across systems to ensure common understanding and delivery to meet overall objectives.
- Conducts enterprise analysis and data gathering to define the business case for implementing new ideas and resolving current problems.
- Collaborates with the business on prioritization activities by providing traceability to strategic goals and measures, helping to understand overall business value, projected technology needs/rough costs, and impact to stakeholders.
- Develops strategies based on a situational awareness of various business areas, scenarios and motivations.
- Provides guidance to decompose the business roadmap into defined initiatives. Communicates current capabilities and rationale of functions, outlining strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
- Creates solution options and provides necessary context to facilitate business decision making through artifacts outlining quantifiable measures such as customer/operational metrics and technology costs as well as intangibles such as customer/user satisfaction, competitive advantage, or changes in risk.
- Represent the business in the creation of solution architecture and technical designs.
- Identifies opportunities to enhance customer/user experience and operating efficiency that align with short and long term strategic objectives.
- Partner with other I/S system teams to identify dependencies and resolve issues related to implementation conflicts.
- Consults with the business on the planning and estimating of work at the release and functional level.
Specialized Knowledge & Skill Requirements
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service
- Demonstrated experience balancing and aligning the focus of many different stakeholders across the enterprise based on business objectives.
- Demonstrated experience building effective working relationships and a strong network that includes people from both business and technical disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience planning and deploying both business and IT initiatives.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of existing technology and emerging technologies that will enhance business capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience recognizing and providing recommendations for structural issues within the organization, functional interdependencies and cross-silo redundancies.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of system architecture and system engineering processes and procedures and how to apply architectural principles to business solutions.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of infrastructure technologies, operating systems, and the interconnectivity between infrastructure platforms and software tools.
- Demonstrated experience act as liaison conveying information needs of the business to IT and technology or cost constraints to the business; applies equal conveyance regarding business strategy and IT strategy.
- Demonstrated experience assimilating and correlating disconnected documentation and drawings, and articulating their collective relevance to the organization and to high-priority business issues.
- Demonstrated experience creating high-level models that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architecture.
Preferred candidates with experience listed below:
Strong knowledge and understanding of Scaled Agile Framework
At least two years of experience working in SAFe
Minimum of 5 years experience as a project level business analyst
Ability to breakdown epics into features of appropriate level
Ability to mentor others in the creation of good user stories
Desired skills include:
Experience using Target Process and Jira
Knowledge of property and casualty insurance
