Job Description
Position Purpose:
During the hours of 5:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. this indivudal provides safety and security functions for the building and occupants. Includes visitor wayfinding assistance, patrol of all areas to complete security inspections, completing safety inspections and related duties, and acting as a first responder to building issues and incidents. May also assist building engineer as directed in to maintain areas of the building with emphasis on the continual safety of the building and enhancement of the building image for the tenants and visitors of the property.

Essential Job Functions
- Monitor building equipment alarm panels after hours
- Conduct patrols of property. Identify facility, fire and safety issue and report to management.
- Monthly, complete fire extinguisher inspections in all suites and common areas.
- Monitor daily janitorial activities after hours and other contractors on site after hours and insure completion of task.
- Monitor employee activities after hours and provide sense of safety to those on the premises.
- Maintain daily activity reports and incident reports as necessary.
- Investigate security incidents and report findings to client.
- Follow up incidents with local law enforcement/assist as required.
- Secure offices, gates, building exterior doors, and set alarms.
- As requested , inspect suites and work areas after hours during critical events such as severe weather etc.
- Greet all patients and visitors, assist with directions, wheelchair assistance and escorts to suites if necessary.
- Properly communicate any building information as approved by the Property Manager including announcements of new tenants, building projects, construction areas, information regarding tenants, information on how to report building questions and concerns.
- Properly stop and/or redirect an inappropriate activity such as loitering, solicitation, food vendor delivery, smoking, parking at the main entrance, etc.
- Responsible to keep reception desk clean and free from any personal items, lost and found items, unapproved literature, events, etc.
- Responsible to log lost and found items into the lost and found area
- Look for and report any damaged building items including wheel chairs, bathroom dispensers, seats, ash receptacles, doors etc. to the maintenance technician. Remove items when possible and relocate to the dock for repair.
- Complete Incident Forms for any building reported concern. Follow proper procedure, include appropriate factual details and submit to Property Manager in the management office. For incidents involving a person, contact the property manager immediately following the incident.
- Responsible to keep accurate employee time on timesheets in the office each day of work. To request time off at least one day in advance via email or text to the Property Manager, and to maintain commitment to arrive to work on time and leave at the end of the shift. Late arrivals must be called to the Property Manager and early leave must be requested and is not guaranteed, with the exception of personal emergencies.
- Responsible to report any tenant or coworker concerns relayed to Property Manager to support the KIRCO Best in Class commitment. Gossip related to tenants or each other is not acceptable and all efforts to bring concerns to the attention of management to address must be made by our team.
- Take direction from and assist building engineer when requested to assist with various items such as fire extinguisher checks, light bulb replacement, emergency utility shut offs, etc. Building emergencies take priority over all work and if needed, assistance is to be provided.
- Perform such other duties that may be assigned within the individual’s talents, skills and capabilities.
Educational/Experience Requirements
- High School diploma, and evidence of continuing education preferred.
- Prior experience in medical building work preferred.
- Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service.
- General computer skills.
- High energy and consistent positive attitude.
