JOB TITLE: Custodial Supervisor/Building Manager
LOCATION: Fort Logan Northgate
WORK YEAR: 260 Day Employee
SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Work hours may be determined by manager and employee.
WORK STATUS: Classified- Essential Personnel, Hourly Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Chief Operations Officer
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the school and outside common areas during the school day. Makes minor repairs and provides general assistance to the staff. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Makes recommendations for hiring and terminations. Assigns and directs work, discipline, performance evaluation and some training.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions required the following physical demands: frequent lifting 5 to over 25 pounds and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, frequent bending, standing, reaching, occasional squatting, sitting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, stooping, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling: and signification fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires sitting, walking, and standing.
ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Mostly clean and comfortable, some noise, some dirt and dust, some odors and fumes, some hazardous materials or situations.
CLEARANCE:
Must clear online background check and FBI Fingerprint check through Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
SALARY:
Initial salary placement on Class 3 of the Operations and Maintenance Salary Schedule and is $18.37 - $20.35 per hour based upon previous related experience. Highest initial step placement on the salary schedule is step 5.
Please note: This is an at-will position with the Sheridan School District. The annual salary for this position will be determined by number of hours scheduled to work each day and number of days scheduled to work each year. The computed annual salary will be spread out in equal payments over 12 months. Sheridan School District employees are paid once a month on the 1st working day of the month that is not a weekend day or holiday.
BENEFITS:
Employees who are scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible to obtain district health benefits which include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance and supplemental benefits. Positions that qualify for health benefits also qualify for leave which could include vacation and daily leave to be determined by the position and number of days assigned. Sheridan School District No. 2 is a public employer and participates in the Colorado Public Employees’ Retirement Association (PERA). All employees are required by state statute to contribute 10% of salary on a pre-tax basis to PERA and the District contributes 20.9% in addition to employee contribution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises the activities of building custodians, including scheduling, assigning and direction of work; performance evaluation.
- Supervises and coordinates periodic major deep cleaning functions.
- Oversees the security of the building and responds to alarms on emergency call basis.
- Coordinates special events and meeting set-ups.
- Assists custodial personnel on an as needed basis.
- Collaborates with principals in determining and prioritizing building custodial needs.
- Maintains the district custodial inventory and distributes to custodial staff as needed.
- Cleans and maintains the building, including outside areas, snow removal, lawn care and trash pick up
- Maintains inventories of supplies, material, and equipment.
- Performs minor maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical, HVAC and other systems as needed.
- Inspects the building regularly for needed repairs, maintenance, and cleaning needs.
- Confers with the supervisor, principal and night custodial staff regarding needed cleaning, repairs, and minor projects.
- Assists staff as needed including set ups for special events and activities, moving furniture, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by supervisor.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

- High School diploma or G.E.D.
- One to three years experience in similar position
- Knowledge of methods, materials and practices of custodial work
- Supervisory experience

- Bilingual Spanish/English desirable.
