- Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills
- Assist in design using various types of CADD design software
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis
- Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates
- Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current standing as a Rising Junior, Senior or Graduate student actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering Undergraduate or Graduate program
- Experience with basic computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Self-motivated with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Must have completed basic foundational courses: Intro to Engineering, Engineering Drafting Course
- Interest in engineering of bridge and other transportation structures
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Local candidates preferred. Please note that there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship
- Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework
- Experience with AutoCAD or Microstation
- Completed Reinforced Concrete Design, Prestressed Concrete Design, and Steel Design courses
