Job Description

Freeland Martz, PLLC, an Oxford, Mississippi law firm with a second location in Chattanooga, Tennessee, has an opening for a full time bookkeeper and administrative assistant. This position's responsibilities include receiving and issuing client payments, processing payroll, reconciling financial statements, coordinating with professionals to prepare and file necessary tax returns, occasionally preparing and issuing client invoices, and other related bookkeeping tasks. The position will have an administrative assistant component involving clerical tasks (not requiring particular legal acumen) such as filing, scheduling, handling phone calls, etc.

This position comes with health insurance and retirement benefits as well as a generous vacation package and performance-based bonuses twice per year.

Qualified applicants must have experience with Quickbooks, online banking, and cloud-based computing. Strong bookkeeping skills are an absolute prerequisite.

There is an opportunity for some functions of the position to be performed in a remote (work from home) setting but a physical presence within the office is required and will be the majority of the working hours.

No professional licenses are required. The minimum education level is a college degree. Experience with legal billing and customer service are valuable but not required. Customer service experience and customer-focus are necessary.
