Gregg Young Chevrolet of Norwalk is seeking a detailed and organized Body Shop Tear Down Tech/ Apprentice. This candidate will be primarily responsible for disassembly of vehicles to identify hidden damage. As an apprentice, this candidate will learn from an experienced Technician how to properly repair a vehicle involved in a collision.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete tear down process on vehicles for estimate review.
- Assist Body Technician and/ or Estimator in identifying hidden/ additional damage.
- Review estimate to ensure all parts/ repairs have been identified.
- Identify all areas of the repair that may require additional/ supplemental attention.
- Utilize air sanders, spray guns, sanding blocks, etc.
- Prep and prime repairs.
- Ensure that all repair operations are complete and ready for paint shop.
- Work side by side with experienced techs to acquire repair knowledge.
- Reassemble vehicle post repair.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of vocational program preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs or more.
- Able to work in fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Clean and valid driver’s license.

This position is a full-time position at our Norwalk, Iowa location, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with a starting pay of $15/hour.
