Job Description
Overview: WWL Radio (105.3FM/870AM) has a rare full time opening for an experienced board operator and studio producer, who will manage on-air content, screen calls, generate digital content for WWL.com, engage with the listener community, and proudly represent WWL while interacting with on-air guests, experts and officials. Responsibilities: Candidates should have experience operating a studio console and running live entertainment programming, should be proficient in computer assisted broadcast programs, social media, and have strong writing skills.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
  • Operating the control board for live programming.
  • Operating other broadcast equipment - switchers, emergency alert systems, etc.
  • Screening listener phone calls and connecting subjects of scheduled interviews.
  • Editing, uploading and labeling on-demand audio (podcasts).
  • Assisting show hosts with programming-related needs.
  • Coordinating with news and digital departments as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • It is essential that you are dependable, flexible, friendly, and a real team player.
  • We’re looking for a self-motivated person who can flourish in a supporting role with a variety of host personalities, is an excellent communicator, collaborative problem solver, eager news consumer, and is cool under high-pressure, dynamic environments like breaking news, major events and serious weather situations.
  • A valid driver's license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of the applicant's own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.
