As an Apheresis Registered Nurse (RN) in the Bone Marrow Transplant and Oncology unit, you will be responsible for performing all aspects of apheresis procedures while providing optimum nursing care in a safe environment. You will coordinate, direct, evaluate, and modify the delivery of patient care.

  • You will be responsible for the performance of all aspects of Apheresis procedures, including patient assessment monitoring during procedures and recording of all pertinent data
  • You will create a plan of care based on patient assessment and care standards
  • You will provide the patient, donor, and family with education to promote understanding of the disease process and treatment
  • You will emphasize the importance supportive care to the patient, donor, and family during Apheresis
  • You will administer prescribed medications
  • You will review physician’s orders for assigned patients and ensure they are carried out accurately
  • You will notify the physician of changes in the patient’s condition
  • You will organize and maintain the cleanliness of patient rooms and the work environment

Experience

  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • 2 years as a Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Medical/Surgical/Oncology – preferred
  • 1 year of dialysis or Apheresis infusion experience – preferred
