Under general supervision, perform repair and maintenance of electronic patient care/monitoring and clinical engineering equipment, including safety testing, design, installation, calibration, routine maintenance of complex medical electronic equipment
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks
Performs preventive maintenance, repair and calibration services on complex electronic patient care, clinical laboratory research, computerized pneumatic conveying equipment and/or radiographic equipment in accordance with departmental standards and manufacturers operating and repair manuals.
Communicates with nursing, allied health and medical staff, regularly, regarding equipment operation and problems to obtain information in order to resolve the problem and minimize the amount of down time
Observes general clinical engineering practices and respective departmental policies and procedures to promote the overall efficiency of repair service and operations for Clinical Engineering, Diagnostic Imaging or the respective unit.
What You Need to Be Successful:
Education and Experience
Associate's degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, or a commensurate combination of education and experience, is required.
Two years of installation, testing, maintenance and repair of instrumentation, power supplies and electro/mechanical power transmission devices for clinical, biomedical or radiological equipment, or equivalent, is required.
