Billing Specialist
Qualifications:
Requirements:
- Four (4) years’ experience in billing and billing related processes including experience in filing, auditing A/R, customer / insurance relations and communications for both MDCD and commercial insurance, inactive billing, billing systems / clearing house.
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to pass a drug screening and State of Alaska background check
- Experience in commercial and Medicaid billing

- The ability to work as a team member, including accepting and providing supervision
- Basic computer skills and fluid use of electronic communication tools

Job responsibilities:
- Manage all billing for services provided by Set Free Alaska including but not limited to:
o Keeping all client accounts current, including audits for accuracy
o Recording payments in a timely manner
o Performing audit and quality assurance checks on all A/R for missing services not billed quarterly
o Having direct communications with Office Manager, Clinical Director and Counseling staff
o Attending MDCD meetings, AK Aims
o Keeping current on all billing codes and requirements
o Other 3rd party billing and invoicing
o Verifying Commercial and MDCD Insurance coverage
o Inactive Billing / Collections
- Enter billing information into Office Ally
- Prepare and execute A/R audits quarterly. Report findings to appropriate parties
- Create forms, systems and processes to increase productivity in the Billing Department
Supervision:
- Billing Specialist will receive direct supervision from the Accounting Manager
