BILLING & DENIALS SPECIALIST - REMOTE

We are seeking a BILLING & DENIALS SPECIALIST in Antigo, Wisconsin at Aspirus Langlade Hospital. This individual has the flexibility to work on-site or remotely. The Billing and Denial Specialist is responsible for: following up on claims with no response, working, and managing insurance denials, writing, and carrying out the appeal process for all payers, and is responsible for all billing processes for hospital and professional claims.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate degree in business, accounting, healthcare, or a related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
• High school diploma, or GED required.
• Two to three years of related work experience in a healthcare billing department strongly desired.
• Two to three years related work experience with an electronic health record strongly desired. Epic preferred.
• Understands and applies insurance billing, governmental regulations and managed care requirements, as applicable, to the billing process.
• Understands state and federal mandated coverages, health insurance terms, definitions and concepts, as well as auto and other liability terms, definitions and concepts.
• Understands state law governing privacy, utilizing compliance protocol and refers to policy and procedure manual when dealing with specific issues.
• Basic CPT and ICD10- coding knowledge desired.

Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. 80 hour per pay period. Benefits package available.

Aspirus Langlade Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital located in Antigo, Wisconsin. The hospital admits 1,300 inpatients annually with 62,000 outpatient visits each year. The Emergency Department has more than 12,000 patient visits each year. We average 180-200 births per year and perform 1,500 surgeries annually. The hospital holds The Joint Commission-National Quality Gold Seal Approval.
