Summary The Salesperson is responsible for developing sales leads, determining customer needs, presenting solutions for the customer to sell trailers, truck beds and other products and services.

Key Accountabilities

Meet or exceed sales and margin goals through selling products and services; maintaining and managing Customer

Relationship Management system (CRM) for sales productivity. Providing an outstanding customer service experience.

Essential Functions

  • Source sales leads
  • Establish rapport with customers
  • Engage with customers to determine needs and solve problems by matching with appropriate products and services
  • Use the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) to track and manage sales leads
  • Answer inbound sales calls, makes outbound and follow up sales calls
  • Creates quotes for customers
  • Negotiate to meet customer needs while maintaining sales profit margins
  • Prepare sales paperwork and invoices
  • Present finance opportunities to customers and assists the customer with the finance process.
  • Process sales through the cash register and Store Order Entry (SOE) system
  • With the support and direction of the Store Manager, plans and executes outside sales calls to develop wholesale business
  • Attend off-site sales events (Trade shows, sale barns, co-ops, farm expos, tractor pulls, etc.) to market the company and develop sales leads.
  • Work with management to coordinate inventory needs and special orders
  • Support opening and closing of the facility as directed
  • Coordinate, organize and maintain the display and merchandising of the sales yard and showroom
  • Assist in maintaining the general appearance and organization of the offices and facility
  • Keep current with industry trends and updates.

Required Education and Experience

1. High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

2. May substitute three (3) years of commissioned sales experience

3. Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

2. 3-5 years commissioned sales experience preferred

Tasks are regularly performed indoors and outdoors with exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, chemicals and traffic hazards.

Physical Demands To perform the duties of this job, an individual must be able to:

  • Talk and hear, read, write understand and communicate by telephone and in person using the English language.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands for typing, 10-key operation, telephone dialing. Regular use of hands for feeling, grasping or manipulating objects, tools, or controls. Occasional using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, occasionally required to climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, move over uneven surfaces.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
  • Regular operation of computers, cash register, telephone and printer/copier/scanner/fax.
  • Regular operation of tractors, forklifts, vehicles and other power equipment.

Work Hours This position can be either full-time or part-time based upon business needs. Work week may be up to six days and range between 15-30 hours for part-time or 30-40 hours per week for full-time. Overtime may be required occasionally or regularly.

Travel This position requires the employee to have reliable transportation for local travel by vehicle.
