Job Description
We are looking for a Benefits & Leave Coordinator to join our Benefits team!
As a Benefits & Leave Coordinator you will be responsible for collaborating across the People team to provide operational, process-related support around Etsy’s employee benefits and leave of absence programs. This role is needed to ensure not only compliance but also that processes are efficient and provide a consistent and positive employee experience.
This is a full-time position located (eventually) in Brooklyn, NY, reporting to the Global Benefits Manager. We offer flexible workplace policies that can accommodate work from home candidates who are comfortable traveling to an office location 2-3 times per week.
Qualifications
About the Role
In this role you will:
- Administer day-to-day global benefit operations, supporting our HR channels of communication and employee self-service portal
- Ensure process and document compliance; building compliance into all we do
- Be responsible for completing required annual benefit compliance reporting
- Process benefit vendor invoices and track against team budgets
- Run our new hire benefit orientations and update internal communications for accuracy and consistency
- Participate in cross-functional team based projects as needed
- Build strong partnerships to ensure successful collaborations within the People team
- Actively identify process improvement opportunities to better use technology and help the People Operations team scale
- Develop and lead ongoing employee benefit communications.
- Maintain knowledge of employee benefits industry trends and support new program analysis and implementation
- Maintain and ensure data integrity between our HRIS (Workday) and all third party carriers.
- Work closely with payroll to ensure all employee deductions are processed accurately
- Coordinate and track all company leaves of absences – including FMLA, disability leaves, company-provided leaves, military leave, etc. Sending required notices, forms, and letters, determine leave eligibility (approvals/denials) and re-certifications on a strict deadline.
- Coordinate Workers' Compensation program to include prompt reporting, claim management, and plan auditing.
- Support Legal/HRBP in coordinating ADA and FMLA compliance including accommodation coordination.
- Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and municipal leave laws and regulations; propose revisions to internal documents, policies, and communications as necessary, to ensure company compliance.
- Develop and generate reports to analyze leave and accommodation data and trends.

About You
Ideally you'll bring:
- A minimum of 3 years of general HR experience, with 2 years global benefit and leave administration experience
- Solid understanding of administering leave of absences and accommodations.
- Basic proficiency of laws and regulations; including HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, and the ACA.
- Workday experience required
- Zendesk experience a plus
- Proficiency with data analysis and Microsoft Excel & Google sheets
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Detailed oriented and able to balance multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong work ethic, sense of urgency and ability to handle challenging priorities
