Reports to: Human Resources Director

PURPOSE: Assist human resources personnel in administering, evaluating, and maintaining corporate benefits programs; the candidate will perform all transactional duties dealing with employee benefits and will also offer counsel employees on the use of these benefits.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organize and manage daily benefits operation.
- Conduct benefit orientation explaining benefit plans, enrollment process and answering employee’s questions.
- Design, develop and distribute benefit communication
- Manage enrollment and determine employee eligibility
- Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA as required by company’s policy and legal requirements.
- Enter employee’s leave in Paylocity using the correct benefit type.
- Responsible to review and follow up with benefits bills as well timely payment of monthly premiums.
- Support planning, arrangement and execution of yearly benefits open enrollment
- Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes. Responsible to follow up with broker or plan administrator when necessary.
- Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
- Coordinate workers’ compensation claims with third-party administrator. Follow up on open claims.
- Ensure company’s benefits policy complies with laws and regulation.
- Responsible to update and distribute all legal notices to employees including Summary Plan Description, Plan Document and Cobra Rights Coverage.
- Assist with employment and financial verification.
- Assist HR Director in completing benefits reporting requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree required
- 2 + years’ experience in benefits administration including COBRA, FMLA, Workers Compensation mandates, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Detail orientated with ability to meet schedules and honor deadlines
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (Ownership For Results)
- Accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
- Accuracy and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators, or other appropriate service providers.
- Up to date employees benefits
- Employee’s Leave of Absence are tracked in paylocity and all documentation is in compliance with state and federal laws.
- Employees benefit questions and concerns are address in a timely manner
WORK SCHEDULE: 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday. Schedule can vary depending on the needs of the agency.
