SUMMARY:
The Bench Technician Supervisor will provide technical direction and guidance to bench technicians and preventative maintenance (pm)/install crew including policy and procedure enforcement, training, scheduling, increasing customer service, and positively affecting morale.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor employees while on shift.
Identify and schedule training for Bench Technicians, PM/Install crew, Floor Attendants, and Management as directed by the Gaming Operations Director
Evaluate all bench technicians on a quarterly basis.
Ensure compliance with gaming regulations in all aspects of the bench technician department while protecting the integrity of the department and casino.
Work closely with the gaming department managers and director to stay informed of new projects and any technical needs for themselves or the department.
Collaborate and communicate with other departments, vendors, and manufacturers.
Perform all Bench Technician I, II, and III duties including installations, conversions, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of slot machines when required.
Notify the Bench Tech Manager of written policy and procedure need and produce these as directed.
Maintain current knowledge of changes with the resort, utilizing Outlook to communicate with other supervisors and employees.
Other projects and duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must have or be able to obtain a Coeur d’Alene tribal gaming license.
Three years previous experience troubleshooting electronic devices and one year in gaming machines or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
One year previous customer service and lead experience required; previous supervisory experience preferred.
Previous interview and hiring experience preferred.
Must have previous experience using a voltmeter and troubleshooting wires as related to video gaming machines.
Skills/Knowledge:
Must have an excellent attendance history free of no call/no show policy violations.
Advanced knowledge of video gaming machines including mechanical functions, configurations, play aspects of gaming machines, player tracking system hardware, and component level repair/troubleshooting required.
Must be able to read schematics and perform software control of peripherals and clearly explain these to others.
Advanced knowledge of electronics systems, electromechanical systems, basic manual hand tools, testing equipment, repair methods, and repair of printed circuit boards required.
Must be able to properly and effectively use a two-way radio.
Must have excellent customer service skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
Must be able to read and comprehend directions from service manuals, vendor representative, and supervisors for repair, replacement, and/or conversion of equipment and machines.
Must have knowledge of the general Windows environment, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Must guide, coach, and work well with a team; thorough understanding of the theory of progressive discipline preferred.
Must be able to manage conflict and influence outcomes.
Strong organizational, presentation, and multitasking skills required.
