Job Description:
YAI has an opening for a Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS). The Behavior Intervention Specialist is a key leadership position within the interdisciplinary team to help support people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. This is a clinical position which involves the assignment to several programs where the BIS is responsible for the assessment of individuals’ habilitative, behavioral and psychiatric needs and the development and implementation of effective interventions to help support those needs.
- Implement behavior support plans and effective data collection systems in accordance with OPWDD guidelines
- Promote person-centered philosophy
- Clinically supervise Assistant BIS
- Spend significant time interacting with individuals on caseload
- Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments
- Knowledge of developmental disabilities
- Ability to write clinical reports, goals and treatment plans
- Ability to train staff and professional presentations
- Leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Incorporate technology to enhance quality care and promote independence
- Ensure that all psychological records are maintained in accordance with OPWDD and YAI standards under the direction of the Program Supervisor and Quality Resource Specialist.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree from an accredited school in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy
- Must have excellent engagement, interpersonal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines
- Strong dedication to enhancing quality care, incorporating strategies and techniques and team-based care
Other:
- Ability to travel to various programs
- 40 hour work week
- Hours 10am-6pm or 11am -7pm
