We are looking for a Life Science Business Development Manager to mentor under our current VP of Life Science Solutions and expand this growing market segment for Bay Advanced Technologies. If you’ve got what it takes, we’d love to talk with you. In your role, you’ll partner with an experienced engineering and sales team that have strong product and application knowledge. You will work with the sales team to grow their Medical/Life Science customers with an emphasis on new design development and move an application from a component level to a customized integrated sub module product for our clients. We'll look to you to increase our understanding of market needs including working closely with our suppliers on market trends, new product and regulatory requirements. You will maintain a short list of direct account responsibilities
More About Your Role
You will be responsible for and developing revenue in the Life Science Industry by developing repeat relationships in existing accounts and opening new business. Use your consultative selling approach when calling on engineers, purchasing, and others to learn about your customers’ applications and analyze their needs.
Achieve sales and profit goals by developing existing customers, opening new business, and customer retention- Conduct sales and service activities, develop strong customer relationships, identify product applications, and introduce new products and services
- Partner with manufacturer reps and our support team to help spec in products / systems that will enhance customer performance
- Prepare quotes and proposals, follow up and negotiate terms, and close transactions
- Organize and conduct training sessions for customers, survey market and competitive conditions
- Complete reports regarding itineraries, expenses, sales calls, leads and other related reports
- Monitor customer complaints, follow up on outstanding orders, and make emergency calls, night calls, and deliveries as required
Business Development Manager skills and qualifications
A successful candidate should have various skills and qualifications including:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, marketing, communications, business or a related field- Min of 3 years proven sales experience of automation and fluidic components to the medical or Life Science market, or other relevant experience
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, and ability to express technical and nontechnical concepts clearly and concisely
- Expert understanding of service and product, and ability to innovate new ways the product can serve customers
- Excellent organizational skills to meet goals and set priorities
- Innate drive to succeed and take initiative
- Strong organizational talents and ability to work under pressure and in new environments
Preferred:
Previous experience working for a Life Science OEM- Previous experience in sales, engineering or marketing for a manufacturer of automation or fluidics components or systems.
