Barista/Server

R?KO Coffee Roasters opened its first cafe location in Arlington’s Courthouse neighborhood. Opened in August 2021, the day-to-night concept, R?KO, is a neighborhood gathering place dedicated to thoughtful coffee creations and seasonal dishes, with a curated evening cocktail and wine program. R?KO also recently opened a pop-up cart in the Cannon House Building of the U.S. Capitol.

R?KO seeks to fill Barista/Server roles at the Arlington location, with the ability to also work at the pop-up cart in the U.S. Capitol as needed.

Barista responsibilities include preparing beverages according to rigorous quality standards, deep knowledge of menu and product line, and the ability to make recommendations based on customer preferences.

Server responsibilities include seating guests, taking orders, running food/drink, checking on guests, understanding of our menu and the ability to make recommendations based on customer preferences.

Opportunity to cross train as a bartender if interested.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they enter
• Prepare beverages following recipes
• Receive and process payments
• Keep the bar area and seating areas clean
• Deliver food and drinks to customer tables
• Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Communicate customer feedback to managers

Skills

• Previous work experience as a Barista or Server preferred but not required
• Hands-on experience with brewing equipment
• Knowledge of sanitation regulations
• Flexibility to work various shifts
• Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
• Excellent communication skills

We require proof of vaccination.
