Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include set-up, cleaning and maintaining banquet functions, following the standards of service set by management.
Responsibilities:
- Set up rooms and function areas with designated tables, chairs, staging, dance floor, flipcharts, easels, blackboards and other equipment as specified by group requirements and in accordance with departmental standards.
- Set up table linens, skirting and tabletop items (water pitchers, ashtrays, glasses, etc.) as specified by group and in accordance with departmental standards. Also may be responsible for place settings on tables
- Refresh rooms as scheduled, following departmental standards.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
- Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
- Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
- Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
- Other duties as assigned

- Follow directions thoroughly.
- Understand guest's service needs.
- Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Previous experience in similar position in the Hospitality industry, preferred.
- Knowledge of various room set-ups and standard equipment involved, preferred.
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling and cleaning techniques, preferred.
- Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
Physical Demands
- Stand and walk for entire shift
- Must be able to comfortably lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Work flexible and sometimes long hours
