Position: Banquet Dishwasher/Utility

Department: Food and Beverage

Reports to: Banquet Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly


Minimum Qualifications


  • A combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities, with a high school diploma or GED preferred

  • No prior experience required but prior hospitality experience preferred

  • Additional language ability preferred, but not required


Essential Functions


  • Portray a positive attitude under all circumstances, understand and represent the core values of Apache Casino Hotel and live the mission of providing exceptional service at all times

  • Transport and clean cooking utensils and service ware in order to provide cooks, bussers and food servers with appropriate equipment for guests’ dining experience

  • Cleaning of physical surroundings

  • Promptly and carefully sort soiled service ware so that it can be put through the dish or pot machine properly; quickly wash all ware and replace in storage areas as designated; physical strength and stamina are essential due to the high activity level

  • Operate burnishing machine to ensure proper finish on silverware; clean kettles, tilt skillets, pots and pans promptly and completely so cooks can carry out their work; keep dish machine properly cleaned and filled with water per Apache Casino Hotel standards; de-tarnish/polish silver for proper appearance

  • Knowledge of or ability to learn about service ware and how to maintain same in order to complement guest experience
  • Ability to read and understand English sufficiently to fully comprehend job requests, caution notices and similar written materials
  • Ability to transport heavy objects through a crowded room
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard Apache Casino Hotel cleaning products; clean up unexpected spills, clean and dry floors to prevent slip/fall accidents, separate linen from other debris
  • Move supplies and equipment
  • Report any suspicious persons or activity to a supervisor immediately
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including cross training
  • Understand and comply with the Eye, Hi, Goodbye program.
  • Regular attendance is required.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality/casino industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules in order to meet the business needs of Apache Casino Hotel. We are busiest during weekends and holidays, events and peak seasons as they occur. There is a reasonable expectation you will be scheduled on duty and/or “on-call” during any of these times.

Physical Demands and Work Environment


The physical demands and work environment characteristics described are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential job functions.


While performing job duties the team member may be occasionally regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The team member will be standing for prolonged periods, and is occasionally required to walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The team member must occasionally grasp, lift or carry up to 35 pounds and move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 500 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


The team member will be exposed to various foods and chemicals as well as latex. While performing job duties the team member is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel between buildings and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands. The team member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate, and there are fluctuations in lighting due to flashing lights from slot machines and band lighting.


At a minimum, the selected candidate will be required to pass a background check and drug-screening test, and obtain a local food handler’s permit.
