Amazon’s Legal Department is looking for a talented and motivated Associate Contracts Manager to support an Amazon Research & Development function on contracting matters. In this role, you will partner with your clients to develop, market, and distribute cutting-edge products and services worldwide. The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, and enjoy working hard, being challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

Responsibilities
  • Draft and negotiate technology development statements of work (SOW) and other contracts on an as needed basis, including amendments and addenda to our master agreements and SOWs
  • Identify key risks/gaps in underlying contracts and recommend changes to mitigate risk
  • Respond promptly, accurately, and crisply with minimal supervision to business requests for legal advice and escalate appropriately where required
  • Develop and maintain: contract templates, training materials on contracting, confidentiality, company policies, etc., standard operating procedures for contracting processes and track associated metrics
  • Support the continuous improvement of contract templates and processes impacting our legal team and the businesses we support
This position will be based in Seattle.

Preferred qualifications
  • In-house contracts management experience is a plus
  • 3+ years' experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating the legal terms of a broad range of standard commercial contracts
  • Strong analytical and computer skills
  • Sound and practical business judgment as well as common sense, and a good sense of humor
