Awake Overnight Counselor - Mental Health Residential Program

Job Description:

Provides overnight awake supervision and monitors the environment for safety and security in the mental health community residence. Provides supervision of clients in managing their medications and adheres to East House medication policies and procedures. Properly logs in client medications and ensure documentation is consistent with medication changes. Audits medication book as directed by immediate supervisor. Maintains security and safety of clients and facility through regular monitoring of environment; identifies and addresses problems as needed per unit procedure. Provides immediate response to crises and emergencies in accordance with East House policies and procedures. Provides regular light housekeeping, cooking and stocking of kitchen as needed. Provides clerical support such as making copies, setting up files or folders, etc. as directed by immediate supervisor. Prepares household supply inventory as directed. Performs routine facility maintenance tasks, including exterior maintenance such as clearing pathways, as needed. Completes unit specific overnight checklist items. Maintains documentation to the standards defined by regulators, funders, and East House policies and procedures and performs chart audits as directed. This East House program is licensed by the NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH).

Hours: Rotating 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, 10 PM to 8 AM

. Requirements:

A high school diploma and some human services work experience required. Valid NYS motor vehicle license, safe driving record, and an insured personal vehicle for use at work required.

Compensation:

Wages are determined based on job-related education and experience.
