THE ROLE
Position will be based in either Redmond WA, Portland OR or Irivne CA. We are seeking an Executive Leader to spearhead and transform our client end point supply chain. The role will focus on building and maintaining relationships with our major OEM's, distributors, VAR's and system integrators that supply Providence with modern workplace hardware including laptops, desktops, peripherals and mobile devices. Experience in demand planning and technology along with existing channel and vendor relationships will be key to success. This is a key technical Program and Project Management leadership role for the End User focused technologies vertical within TEO at Providence. The scope crosses all end user software and hardware for both clinical and non-clinical shared services. The scope is both broad and across one to many business units and programmatic, in terms of managing the technical program definition and delivery of solutions that creating a quality, predictable and reliable solutions. This role is both enterprise in nature and startup in mindset. This role will work in a fast past environment, constant demands for better engineering solutions, and will require strong problem resolution, decision making, communication and partnering skills. It requires a combination of deep technical knowledge, business functional knowledge, user advocacy and technical delivery proficiency. This role requires someone to be both a leader and teacher as we bring in cutting edge connected experience mindset and skill set to the organization. It requires a leader to deal with high degrees of ambiguity and drive clear strategy and implantation plans, while bringing the business, fellow IS organizations and a team of very technical program manager leaders along the path to success along with key architect level technical contributors to align the business to the technical planning needs. This leader will build operational workflows to allow for handoff from project work within the organization to the service line operations / run team that receives the handoff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide strategic leadership, oversight and implementation of engineering efforts and roadmaps. Ensure teams create and engineer technical solutions that meet customer requirements with a balanced view toward performance, availability, security, efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness
- Building a cutting edge program management team and function in both mindset and skillset that differentiates PSJH from the industry. Lead and manage this team in such a way to enable a high performance and high engagement
- Build over time, by partnering with teams across Providence, the proper program manager processes and methods that enable the business teams to focus on driving their business and IS to run all the IS services
- Work as a key member of an executive leadership team that includes End to End Experience, Information Management, Program Management, Software Engineering to create a high performing team that will drive necessary a change and leadership, in a consistent way, throughout the organization
- Recommending IT strategies and best practices in line with modern enterprise-class IT standards and in keeping with Providence's mission in steering committees and other meetings. Advocating IS goals and commitments, communicating and driving that vision into interactions with customers and ministries. Being the catalyst for new technologies and challenging conventional wisdom. Apply thought leadership on IT strategy, healthcare trend and technologies to Providence integration efforts
- Lead by example by leveraging the power of program management best practices and methods, to lead and deliver solutions across a virtual team of technical leaders, partners and players within and across the team and IS
- Establishing and managing annual operating and capital budgets and expenditures associated with end user projects. Govern adherence to standards and policies, and that team efforts do not exceed budget(s). Provide budgeting estimates as required by senior executives.
- Play a vital role with peers and key business leaders through functional solution creation by participating in system strategy, lead technical prioritization of projects and be the programmatic connective force for solutions that cross into other IS and non-IS delivery teams
- Act as a key Program Management leader across the IS division to drive consistent methods and process across the enterprise that will ensure PSHJ is a leader in the Healthcare technology space
- Possible required travel up to 25% of work schedule
- Participate as needed in incident response management including during non-working hours
- Maintain the strict confidentiality of all information, including financial/operational, employee/human resource, healthcare/patient data and information.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS
Required experience/education for this position include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Information Services, or other studies; or equivalent educ/experience
- 10 years of Related experience - project management, service engineering, software engineering, technical program management - all at enterprise scale and complexity
- 10 years of Leadership experience, leading experience or program management or technical teams in a complex and fast moving environment
- Experience in modern engineering practices and services such as Agile, DevOps, Automation (Infrastructure as a code), Cloud services, and data engineering
- Advanced knowledge of technical architecture process, qualification process, QA, Design validation and release procedures
- Knowledgeable in functional specification development and management, having the ability to work hands on and to teach and grow others in the knowledge and skills
- Ability to effectively build relationships with customers, executive management, and other stakeholders through positive interaction and problem identification and resolution.
- Ability to perform work independently with minimal supervision, to lead and grow business and user focused team, growing and hiring the next set of leaders, both managerially and technically
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and to organize workload to ensure that timeframes are met and the work is successfully completely within deadlines
- Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations: live, via online or virtual mediums – to be a visible and servant leader within the organization and across IS
- Ability to focus on the greater need and mission of the organization, making personal goals and ambitions secondary to the success of the overall division and organization.
Preferred experience/education for this position include:
- Master’s Degree in Information Service or Business Administration.
