Role Summary/Purpose:
The Solution Architect is responsible for enterprise application design and architecture of solutions for multiple software development projects or programs. This architect will be able execute on the vision of the CareCredit product organization to ensure the design and creation of sustainable applications and capabilities that will support substantial business growth and development. This role will have an emphasis on designing and implementing a comprehensive new system to support newly acquired loan Allegro Credit loan products including implementation of a system of record for loan holders, merchants, and products and all of the accompanying processing systems to support full merchant and loan holder life cycles.
The Solution Architect needs significant people and process skills, with ability to communicate complex ideas and issues in simple terms to project teams, external clients, and often senior management. They also need to deeply understand the business processes in order to create a cohesive vision of the products and services.
Essential Responsibilities:
Lead and architect APIs and Microservices that meet SYF business requirements to deliver business value by enabling rapid innovation through modern software development and delivery.
Develop and maintains policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure that a consistent framework is applied across the organization.
Perform Technology Alternate Assessment, create Proof-of-Concept (as necessary) Provides guidance and direction to project teams to ensure compliance with the standards and best practices.
Work collaboratively with Product Management and Application teams during development, launch and continuing refinement of technology offerings.
Collaborate with internal technical resources and third party vendors to resolve issues and to understand the causes behind the issues and provide solutions.
Continuously learn and be at the leading edge of Cloud practices and industry trends
Work with team members to design, architect and implement solutions across geographic locations
Be the Lead Solution Architect in business initiatives, responsible for defining:
How technology can be used to solve a given business problem?
Which framework, platform, or tech-stack that can be used to create a solution? Which patterns, methods and tools will be most effective and productive?
How the application will look and feel, what the components will be, and how they interact with each other?
How things will scale for the future and how they will be maintained?
Figuring out the advantages and risks in third-party frameworks/platforms?
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree with minimum 5 years of experience in Information Technology OR in lieu of the Bachelor's degree minimum 8 years of experience in Information Technology in a hands on technical role
Minimum 2 years of experience working on leading development and managing large Enterprise platforms.
Experience in REST APIs, Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Framework and other new age UI Application
Recent experience with design, implementation of Cloud native systems (Pivotal Cloud Foundry, AWS, or Similar) and software solutions for Containerized, Micro services based eco-systems, Application modernization, migration and development on PaaS platforms.
Desired Characteristics:
Experience working as a liaison across various business functions on various IT projects
Deep experience working with external vendors and partners including Fiserv and Salesforce
Strong knowledge and working experience with the Synchrony RAPID, Synapps, Non-Stop Tandem, and Fiserv platform
Deep experience with current technical architecture and strategies of Synchrony Financial systems and/or closed network credit systems.
Familiarity with JSON, REST and XML based web services
Excellence in technical communication with technical and non-technical peers
Strong cross-functional team player with the ability to work seamlessly across a matrix organization and partner with global development companies
Experience developing and supporting financial/banking applications
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence clients, team members, management and external groups
Strong attention to detail in a team environment
Strong oral and written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to analyze, use structured problem solving and available tools to troubleshoot systems, identify root cause, action plans, impact and resolution options
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must have at least a “consistently meets expectations” performance rating and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance requirement).

The salary range for this position is 70,000.00 - 150,000.00 USD Annual
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
