Job Summary
Our Information Technology Department seeks an Audio/Visual Technician and Support Specialist who will be responsible for all aspects of the Audio/Visual equipment and related functions, including preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of Audio/Visual equipment and the setting up of meetings and events with video conferences, presentations, collaborative online webinars, meeting recordings including the editing of the video. The technician will also provide computer and software support to the end-user community via telephone, email and remote access and must be able to function under time pressure and ensure that issues are dealt with in a courteous, responsible and competent manner. The position requires evening and weekend hours as needed. This individual may be on-call.

Essential Functions
Key Technical Responsibilities:
  • The Technical Support Specialist is the first line of technical support for AV Issues.
This position will provide real-time trouble shooting support to all incoming calls
  • Participate in the Development of Strategic plans for AV systems and projects
  • Project management for various AV related requests
  • Coordinating and event planning
  • One-on-one and group training
  • Regular system maintenance checks
  • Knowledge of Turning Point, Exam platform support
  • Documenting Vendor visits
  • Participate in the design, installation and configuration of AV systems
  • Procurement of AV equipment
  • Assisting in Simulation Recording and Simulation Systems Support
  • One-on-one or group editing for departmental projects
  • Troubleshooting of AV systems
  • Operating, repair, installation, security and maintenance of AV and videoconferencing equipment
Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 2 years professional experience

Preferred Qualifications
Strong technical knowledge of AV over IP systems, Crestron, Zoom, Teams, Mobile Device Management Solutions, Polycom Systems, Adobe Connect, Vaddio, Extron, Final Cut Pro, Windows and Mac Operating Systems, AMX and other audio and video technologies is preferred.
Must be able to perform the following tasks:
  • Operate, maintain, and repair AV equipment used to enhance and record events.
  • Provide technical support for teleconferences, webinars, and classes (In-person, Virtual, and Hyflex).
  • Record meetings and presentations with video cameras, operate spotlights, adjust amplifiers, coordinate graphics used in displays and provide technical support for teleconferences, webinars and distance-learning classes.
  • Track inventory of equipment.
  • Perform firmware upgrades.
  • Extensive use of business computer systems including Microsoft Office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Project.
  • May require occasional lifting (> 50 lbs.).
  • Requires extensive sitting at a desk/table, bending, crouching, stooping, standing and walking.
