ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Automotive Electrical (Pneudraulics) Technician at FarmWise, you will perform work, reworks, and repairs on our 9000-pound agricultural machine.

ABOUT THE WORK

  • The primary purpose of this position is as an FarmWise Automotive Electrical (Pneudraulics) Technician involved in the installing, troubleshooting, adjusting, testing, repairing, etc. of electrical, pneumatics, hydraulic systems, and equipment on board robotic farm equipment.
  • Performs troubleshooting of electrical, pneumatics, hydraulic or environmental systems and related equipment for all robotic agriculture equipment.
  • Utilizes safety practices and procedures and complies with safety regulations, directives, and policies.
  • Installs, modifies, repairs, replaces, adjusts and overhauls complex and/or electrical, pneumatics, hydraulic or environmental systems, components, and accessories.
  • Performs final functional and operational tests of the entire robot electrical, pneumatics, hydraulic or environmental systems and related control tools.

Your qualifications will be evaluated based on your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of assigned shop and trade practices. Ability to follow appropriate work practices including keeping a tidy, clean, and orderly work area.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the electrical, pneumatics, hydraulic theory, principles, and circuitry and instruments used in shop and trade practices and a knowledge of automotive electrical systems and their relationships.
  • Ability to apply technical practices in the performance of assigned work.
  • Knowledge of electrical, pneumatics, hydraulic principles to recognize types and sizes of resistors, capacitors, wiring, relays, air and hydraulic valve bodies, aux pumps, and hydraulic motors.
  • Knowledge of the interface of electrical or environmental systems with hydraulic, pneumatic, instrument, and mechanical systems and assemblies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of testing and troubleshooting techniques and procedures utilizing a variety of test devices and ability to analyze, modify, and repair complex electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic or environmental systems and components.
  • Skill in installing, relocating, and repositioning electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic components and wiring to facilitate installation of equipment. Ability to lay-out connecting circuits and make connections to prevent equipment or circuit overload or malfunction.
  • Skill in calibrating and adjusting components such as IMU’s, rotating encoders, generators, and voltage regulators.
  • Ability to use and interpret computer data, wiring and Pneudraulics diagrams, technical data, blueprints, schematics, and engineering instructions.
  • Skill in tracing hard to locate and intermittent electrical defects and problems using a variety of meters and testing devices.
  • Ability to perform circuit board repairs, and manufacture wiring harnesses from engineering drawings.
  • 5-10 years of solid field service experience performing installations, preventative maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment.
  • Basic mechanical skills and general knowledge of operating hand tools, portable power tools, and bench tools.
  • Excellent mechanical and electrical aptitudes, knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, hydraulics, and internal combustion engines is highly desired.
  • The ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality focused, organized and willing to learn.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record, with the ability to obtain a Class A Commercial driver’s license is required.
  • Ability to raise 50lbs objects and sometimes work 12 hour shift.
  • Automotive and mechanical electronics experience is required.
  • Technical degree, previous repair or welding experience, and knowledge of various types of testing equipment is a plus.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
