Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Automation Equipment Assembler is responsible for the build-up and integration of various mechanical, electrical and pneumatic operated sub-assemblies onto various automation equipment. This position includes trouble shooting and repair of these assemblies on equipment that has already been released to production.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the assembly of highly complex automation equipment with purchased and fabricated components referencing assembly drawings, electrical & pneumatic schematics and product BOM’s (paper and digital versions)
Ability to fine align sensors, sub-assemblies and precision machined components to tight specifications
Modification of various aluminum, steel, fiberglass and plastic components/enclosures utilizing drills, various saws and cut-off wheels. (Includes deburr and touch-up)
Drilling and taping of holes
Ability to safely and properly use power and hand tooling
Wire and cable stripping, crimping and connector installation
Work with Engineering for red Lining of BOM’s, mechanical drawings and electrical schematics as necessary
Working with Engineering to team to improve manufacturability of designs
Expediting material shortages to ensure project timelines are met
Comply with company safety procedures
TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Education and Experience (in years):
High School degree (or equivalent experience) with 2-4 years of related work experience OR
AA or Technical Trade Degree with 1-2 years of work experience.
Knowledge and skills:
Proficient use of Word, excel and PowerPoint
Ability to read electrical schematics
Ability to decipher mechanical/engineering drawings
Physical requirements/abilities:
Must be able to lift 40 lbs. Must be able to stand for several hours.
Work may involve repetitive arm/wrist motions.
Be able to stand for 8 hours
Must be available for Overtime (nights and weekends)
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
3 years Intermediate electrical and mechanical skills
Experience with SOLIDWORKS
Background in building to print (based on BOM’s, schematics and assembly drawings)
